Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy developed by psychologist Albert Ellis. It focuses on identifying and changing negative and irrational beliefs that contribute to emotional distress and behavioral problems. REBT is based on the idea that it is not events themselves that cause negative emotions, but rather our beliefs and attitudes about those events. The therapist works with the client to identify and challenge irrational beliefs, replacing them with more rational and adaptive beliefs. This process can help individuals better manage their emotions and behaviors, leading to improved mental health and well-being. REBT is a highly structured and directive form of therapy that can be effective for a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and addiction.
